Guizhou Xuande Bio-technology Corp., Ltd. was established in 1994 as Guizhou Wubeizi Development Co., Ltd. and is located in the national high-tech industrial development zone at Guiyang, Guizhou, on Kechuang South Road in the Shawen science and technology industrial park.

The company extracts essential oils and oleoresins from spices and formulates Chinese-style compound seasonings, and covers research, cultivation, deep processing and sales. It has more than twenty years of experience with supercritical carbon dioxide extraction and also runs multifunctional extraction equipment and molecular distillation lines. Stated combined annual production capacity is 5,000 tonnes, and it holds 23 patents.

Two brands are used. Wubeizi covers the spice extraction line, including capsicum oleoresin, Sichuan pepper essential oil and capsanthin. Diandianjia was created later for standardised and customised Chinese compound seasonings supplied to catering chains.

The company hosts the Guizhou Prickly Ash Processing Engineering Technology Research Center, a provincial engineering technology research centre approved by the Guizhou science and technology department in 2020 and built on the support of Guizhou University and the provincial forestry academy. Its research topics include drying and preservation of fresh Sichuan pepper for large-scale bases, removing bitterness and accelerating release of the numbing principle in pepper oil, chilled preservation of fresh pepper, aroma enhancement of fresh pepper oleoresin, building a quantitative index library for numbing intensity and aroma, separation and purification of pepper extracts, and use of processing by-products. The company also runs its own application and technology development centre and maintains research links with Chinese universities and institutes.
