Jiangxi Tian Yi Fragrance Flavour Co., Ltd.

Jiangxi Tian Yi Fragrance & Flavour makes sucrose acetate isobutyrate, the weighting agent used in beverage emulsions, and isobutyric anhydride, an intermediate for flavour and pharmaceutical synthesis. Alongside neat SAIB it sells cut grades, 90 per cent SAIB with 10 per cent sweet orange terpene, ethyl acetate or ethanol, and 80 per cent SAIB with 20 per cent caprylic capric triglyceride.

The plant sits in the provincial flavour and fragrance industrial park at Jinxi County, Fuzhou, Jiangxi, and runs 500 tonnes a year of SAIB and 1,000 tonnes a year of isobutyric anhydride. The company developed its SAIB route with Chinese research institutes and took it from pilot scale into industrial production in 2004, testing the product against the JECFA, FCC and CAC specifications. In 2017 it joined the working discussion on revising GB 30616, the national standard for food flavourings.
