Sichuan Litong Food makes fermented chilli and bean products. Pixian broad bean paste, the doubanjiang that underpins Sichuan cooking, is the central line, and around it sit fermented broad bean, chilli embryo, which is salted chilli mash held for further processing, ciba chilli and tomato sauce.

The company was founded in 2004 and works a 30,000 square metre production site with enclosed standardised workshops and piped transfer of raw material, intermediates and finished paste through to automatic filling, at an annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes. It runs a digitalised koji room, which it credits with raising enzyme activity in the finished koji by more than 40 percent and giving a fuller broad bean fermentation. An affiliated business, LTEC International Agriculture Development, grows chilli overseas and gives the company a raw material base of about 30,000 mu.
