Wuhan Grand Hoyo Co., Ltd.

Wuhan Grand Hoyo Co., Ltd. began as the Wuhan University Bioengineering Technology Company, a university-run enterprise, and was converted to a joint-stock company in 2000. In 2008 Grand Pharmaceutical (China) Co., Ltd. acquired and restructured the business and entered a strategic arrangement with Wuhan University and other parties.

The company works on amino acids and their derivatives, drawing on research from the School of Life Sciences at Wuhan University and the Hubei provincial engineering technology research centre for amino acids. It holds API manufacturing approvals for N-acetyl-L-tyrosine, N-acetyl-L-cysteine, cysteine hydrochloride, carbocisteine, arginine hydrochloride, histidine hydrochloride and lysine hydrochloride, with further amino acid approvals in review. Product quality is specified against CP, USP, BP, EP, AJI and FCC.

Certification covers ISO 9001, HACCP, FSSC 22000 and the Chinese SC food production licence, together with China GMP, Korean KDMF, EU GMP and an EDQM Certificate of Suitability, plus Kosher and Halal. The company has passed on-site audits by Wyeth, Merck, Zambon and Guangzhou Baiyunshan and supplies them. It was one of the drafting bodies for Chinese national and industry standards on amino acids. Head office is in the East Lake New Technology Development Zone in Wuhan, with plants at Gedian in Ezhou and at Xiantao, both in Hubei.
