Lequan dates from 2004, when Shanghai Lequan Food Co., Ltd. was set up and passed a supplier audit for Yum Brands. The manufacturing company, Wuhu Lequan Biotechnology Co., Ltd., is at No. 8 Maojianshan South Road in the economic development zone of Fanchang district, Wuhu, Anhui province.

The company makes 100 percent NFC juice, concentrated juice, fruit pulps, purees, single-frozen fruit, jams and beverage concentrates, supplying drinks companies, dairies, bakeries, ice cream makers, Chinese and western restaurant chains, and tea and coffee chains, as well as producing to customer specification. It also imports fruit preparations from Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, the United States, Canada, Italy, Spain, Austria, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines, and is the exclusive agent in China for Austrian and Italian natural fruit flavours cleared for use in infant food.

R&D centres and plants are held in Austria, Italy, Shanghai and Wuhu. Certification covers HACCP, ISO 9000, ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000.
