Acetar Bio-tech, known in Chinese as Xi'an Tianyi Biotechnology, produces plant extracts, health food raw materials, feed additives and pharmaceutical intermediates. Core lines include ginkgo biloba extract, St John's wort extract and scutellaria baicalensis extract, with more than a hundred catalogue items in total; the company also markets water-soluble fruit powders and protein ingredients.

The head office is at Gaoke Smart Park on Jinye Road in Xi'an, Shaanxi. Production runs from two plant-extraction lines built to GMP standards, one in Zhouzhi County and one in Fengxian County near Baoji, with combined capacity given as 5,000 tonnes of natural plant material a year. Two wholly owned subsidiaries divide the work: Xi'an Broadpro Bio-Tech handles trade and sales, while Zhouzhi Tianyi Gubentang Biotechnology operates as a production base. Both were added through acquisition and investment.

Acetar was admitted to the National Equities Exchange and Quotations board on 28 January 2015 under stock code 831942, and describes itself as the Shaanxi plant-extraction industry's listed company on that market. It is recognised as a national high-tech enterprise and holds two proprietary products with its own intellectual property. Export accounts for roughly 70 percent of sales, concentrated in North and South America, and the company has stated an intention to broaden into Europe, West Asia, the Middle East and Africa to reduce that concentration. Its raw material supply is tied to contract growing in the Xi'an area, including an echinacea harvest at Zhouzhi County.
