Forbon Xiangyu (Yueyang) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. develops and produces caramel colour and is a subsidiary of Hubei Forbon Technology Co., Ltd., listed in Shenzhen under stock code 300387. It is one of the few Chinese producers working at scale on caramel colour alone, and is a drafting unit for the national standard covering the material.

The company is headquartered in Yueyang, Hunan province, at the Xinqiang Food Industrial Park, on a site of about 100 acres. Its caramel colour range includes classes with colour ratios below 35,000 EBC intended for condiments and sauces, produced from white sugar, high fructose corn syrup and syrup feedstocks. Three subsidiaries extend the group's footprint: Xiangyu Biotechnology (Xingtai) in the Oriental Food City park at Longyao County, Xingtai, Hebei; Hunan Jiachu Food on the Third Ring Road of the Ningxiang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Changsha; and Guangdong Xiangyu Technology at Shuangshui Town, Xinhui District, Jiangmen.
