Foshan Gaofeng Starch Technology modifies starch. It works corn, tapioca, waxy maize and potato starch into hydroxypropyl ethers, phosphates such as the hydroxypropyl distarch phosphate listed here, acetylated esters, octenyl succinate esters, oxidised and acid thinned grades, pregelatinised starches and premixed powders.

The plant went into production in 1994 at Foshan in Guangdong, covers 11,000 square metres and employs about 100 people, with annual output of around 10,000 tonnes. Its starches go into frozen foods, yoghurt and snacks, oyster sauce, rice and noodle products, baked goods and seasonings, and also into home care products, building materials and adhesives.
