Guangrao Liuhe Chemical Co., Ltd.

Guangrao Liuhe Chemical Co., Ltd. makes guar gum and guar derivatives at a site east of Guangrui Road in the Guangrao Economic Development Zone, Guangrao County, Dongying, Shandong. It was founded in 2002 and began by bringing in guar split suppliers from India and Pakistan. Registered capital was raised to 145 million yuan in 2025 and the plant covers 80,000 square metres.

The product range runs from food grade and fast hydrating guar gum through hydroxypropyl guar, carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl guar and the cationic guar derivatives used in personal care, sold under the company's ZY brand. Applications extend well beyond food into oilfield drilling and fracturing, mining, papermaking, textile printing and pet products, and the company says its materials reach more than twenty industries.

Capacity was built out in stages. A hydroxypropyl guar line was added in 2004, a CMHPG line in 2014, and fully automatic lines in workshops three and six in 2016 took annual capacity to 30,000 tonnes. Annual sales passed 20,000 tonnes in 2018, workshop four started up in 2020 and workshop five in 2025. The company became a first-class material supplier to CNPC in 2013 and opened a Xinjiang oilfield office in 2017.

In 2012 it drafted the Chinese national quality standard for food grade guar gum, GB 28403-2012, with Danisco China, at the request of the China Food Additives and Ingredients Association and the national standards committee. It has since contributed to industry standards for cationic guar gum and for galactomannan analysis. Certifications include ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, API Q1, REACH registration and, from the end of 2022, FSSC 22000.
