Hishine Industry Co., Ltd.

Hishine Industry Co., Ltd. has made zinc oxide since 1995 and is based at No. 118 Taishan Road, Guoli Town, Huantai County, Zibo, in Shandong. Registered capital is USD 7 million and combined annual capacity is 72,000 tonnes.

Zinc oxide is supplied in food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic, feed, fertiliser, rubber and tyre, paint and coating, and glass and ceramic grades, in purities from 90 to 99.9 percent and in granular, calcined and liquid forms. The company has extended into other zinc compounds that share the same chemistry, including zinc gluconate, zinc citrate, zinc carbonate and zinc glycinate. More than 30 patents have been granted, mostly covering energy use, emissions, product consistency and stability, and a six-step testing routine runs through production.

The plant has been rebuilt in stages. Natural gas replaced earlier fuel on the third and fourth generation lines in 2008, and a fifth generation line designed in-house followed in 2012, cutting energy use by 38.2 percent, winning a municipal energy-saving award and carrying eight patents. German equipment and automation went in on new lines in 2016. Hishine was recognised as a national high-technology enterprise in 2020 and obtained a food-grade production licence in 2021. In 2023 it was named a specialised and innovative small and medium enterprise and a manufacturing champion of Shandong province, and obtained FDA registration, kosher and halal certificates and an EcoVadis gold rating. Green Factory certification followed in 2024.
