Hubei Yizhi Konjac Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was established in 2007 and deep-processes konjac at No. 438 Changyang Road in the economic development zone of Changyang, Hubei. It employs between 300 and 500 people, sells under the ESKONJAC brand and exports 70 to 80 percent of output.

On 21 February 2023 the company listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange, becoming the first publicly traded konjac business in China. In May 2023 the China Council for Brand Development scored its brand strength at 769 and its brand value at RMB 538 million. Its activities span the chain from konjac seed research to finished products, and it operates three product categories, konjac hydrocolloid, konjac food and konjac beauty, comprising 66 product series. Alongside konjac gum and glucomannan powders it supplies carrageenan and compound thickeners.

Application guidance on the site is specific: 0.1 to 0.5 percent in sausages and meatballs for water retention and fat replacement, 2 to 10 percent in vegetarian products such as konjac tofu and vermicelli, and higher inclusion in capsules, tablets, meal replacement powders and chewable confectionery.

Milestones include recognition of its konjac dietary fibre product as a Hubei Famous Brand Product in 2009, the change to the present company name and the founding of the subsidiary Yunnan Yizhi Konjac Biotechnology Co., Ltd. in 2010, provincial key leading enterprise status in agricultural industrialisation in 2011, and designation as a Hubei engineering technology research centre in 2012. It also holds a Hubei provincial food colloid engineering technology research centre and a provincial enterprise technology centre.
