Jialishi Additives (Haian) Co., Ltd.

Jialishi Additives (Haian) Co., Ltd. was set up in November 2009 with registered capital of RMB 100 million and occupies about 46,000 square metres at No. 8 Kangqiao Road in the Haian economic development zone, Nantong, Jiangsu. It was built on the business of its predecessor, Guangzhou Jialishi Food Co., Ltd., which now trades as Guangzhou Jialishi Food Trade Co., Ltd. The founder and managing director is Sun Jingzhang.

Mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids are the core product. They are made by reacting hydrogenated oil containing C16 and C18 chains with glycerin and then separating the product by molecular distillation, giving a mixture of glyceryl monostearate and glyceryl monopalmitate. The company is one of the larger producers of this material in China and was a principal drafting unit for GB 1886.65-2015, the Chinese national food safety standard covering it.

In food the material is used as an improver and emulsifier in flour products, an aerating agent in cake, a plasticiser in confectionery and chocolate, an emulsifier and stabiliser in ice cream, a stabiliser and thickener in drinks, an improver in meat, starch and potato products, biscuits and extruded snacks, and as an antifoam, yeast protectant and fruit coating. The same product is sold into plastics processing as a foaming aid, lubricant, antistatic and antifog additive.

Output is sold under the Jialishi and Haitang brands, in China and to Europe, the Americas, Southeast Asia and Africa. The company holds ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 certification, MUI halal and kosher certificates, a food production licence and export food additive registration, and is recognised as a high-technology enterprise and a Jiangsu private science and technology enterprise.
