Luwei Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. was founded in 1995 and operates from the Shuangfeng Industrial Park in Zichuan District, Zibo City, Shandong Province. It employs more than 2,600 people, holds its own import and export licence and concentrates on the vitamin C chain.

The business is organised into five blocks: a vitamin C powder production base, a green low-carbon circular economy industrial park, an energy supply base, a corn deep-processing park and the Qingtie Luwei logistics arm. Two core product groups are sold, vitamin C powder and its derivatives, and sodium bicarbonate with ammonium chloride. Design capacity is given as 100,000 tonnes of vitamin C powder and, for the first phase of the sodium bicarbonate plant, one million tonnes. The company states that it sells into more than 160 countries and regions.

Research is carried out through an academician workstation, a Shandong provincial enterprise technology centre, a Zibo national key talent expert workstation and municipal laboratories, with cooperation agreements at Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, Shandong University of Technology, Jiangnan University, Qilu University of Technology and Tianjin University of Science and Technology. The company holds 150 granted Chinese patents, contributed to one national and one local standard and led two association standards. It is a National High-Tech Enterprise and a national green factory.
