Qingdao Nongshim Foods makes savoury ingredients for other manufacturers: concentrated juices from vegetables, seafood and meat, seasoning oils and seasoning powders, foodservice sauces, dehydrated vegetables, chilli powder and part-processed extruded components. The catalogue runs to more than 200 items, nearly all of them built to go inside a finished product rather than to be sold at retail.

The plant is at Jiaozhou in the Qingdao area of Shandong, on a 100,000 square metre site with more than 370 staff. The company is wholly owned by Nongshim Co., Ltd of South Korea, the instant noodle group, which shapes what it makes: seasoning oils and vegetable concentrates of the type that go into noodle sachets. It holds ISO, HACCP, CNAS and BRC certification, sells within China, and exports to Korea, Japan and the United States among other markets.
