Qingdao Novo Nova Biotechnology makes probiotics and postbiotics. It ferments and freeze-dries strain powders, produces postbiotic preparations from inactivated cells and their metabolites, and makes fermented drinks, selling raw material and finished product alike, the latter as contract manufacture for other brands. Its culture bank holds more than 6,000 isolates, over 30 of them patented functional strains of its own.

The company was registered in September 2014 and belongs to a larger biotechnology group. Its Qingdao plant covers more than 10,000 square metres across 22 production lines, with capacity given as 100 tonnes a year of freeze-dried probiotic powder, 50 tonnes of postbiotic preparations, 12,000 tonnes of fermented drinks and 200 million solid dose sachets. Drying runs on vacuum freeze drying, continuous liquid nitrogen droplet freezing and low temperature nitrogen spray drying. It holds ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP and Halal certification with FDA registration.
