Shandong Jellice Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was founded in August 2002 at No. 4686 Zhangbei Road, Huantai County, Zibo, Shandong Province. It has registered capital of 15 million RMB and fixed assets of 38 million RMB, and produces food additive gelatin and collagen peptide.

The plant is a joint venture and is the China arm of the Jellice group, whose overseas investment entity is based in Sendai, Japan. Sister operations are a pigskin gelatin plant at Emmen in the Netherlands, Jellice Taiwan, and a beef bone gelatin plant in India. Group capacity across gelatin and collagen peptides is stated at 20,000 tonnes a year, of which the Zibo site accounts for about 1,800 tonnes.

It makes food and pharmaceutical grade gelatin along with collagen peptides derived from bovine hide and from cod skin. Output supplies Chinese food and health product manufacturers and is also exported to Japan, the United States, South Korea and Australia. The company is also referred to as Zibo Jellice Baoen Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
