Shandong Kanbo Biochemical Technology Co., Ltd.

Shandong Kanbo Biochemical Technology was founded in April 2012 near the mouth of the Yellow River in Dongying, Shandong, at No. 1016 Liba Road in the Lijin County economic development zone. The site covers more than 200 mu, about 13 hectares, and the company employs around 700 people.

Kanbo makes one product, sucralose. Current annual capacity is 8,000 tonnes and the company states that it expects to reach 16,000 tonnes within three years; a technical upgrade project adding a further 10,000 tonnes a year was completed in 2025. The production line runs under a whole-process DCS control system with automated packaging, automated high-bay warehousing and in-line analytical instruments.

The company holds seven granted invention patents and 15 utility models, is registered as a high-technology enterprise, and runs a municipal key laboratory and an engineering laboratory among its research platforms. It employs six full-time safety engineers and operates a safety monitoring platform with six modules. Around CNY 100 million has gone into effluent treatment and combined waste gas incineration, with three on-line monitoring systems on the process. Sucralose is made by selective chlorination of sucrose, carries no calories and is about 600 times as sweet, and the company lists processed fruit and vegetables, juices and carbonated drinks, jams, gels, puddings and jellies and breakfast cereals as its applications.
