Shijiazhuang Jinda Gelatin Co., Ltd.

Shijiazhuang Jinda Gelatin started on 14 October 1994 and makes gelatin from animal bone and hide for two markets: hard capsule shells and food use. Stated output is 2,500 tonnes a year of capsule gelatin and 3,500 tonnes a year of food additive gelatin. The company reports investment of USD 26 million, fixed assets of USD 18 million, registered capital of USD 8.4 million and a site of 16,767.5 square metres, with key production equipment imported.

The works are in the Sishui industrial zone of Wuji County, Shijiazhuang, Hebei, near the Beijing to Shijiazhuang high-speed railway and the Tianjin to Shijiazhuang expressway. In 2022 the company spent USD 4 million on a GMP upgrade covering a new 1,800 square metre gelatin workshop, a 600 square metre class 100,000 purification workshop, a 350 square metre laboratory, a purified water system, a purification air conditioning system and atomic absorption equipment, together with automated capsule gelatin production equipment and a closed central control system.

Regulatory history runs from a food additive gelatin production licence in 2011 to a national drug production licence in February 2012, a pharmaceutical excipient registration number in September 2014 and registration as a drug excipient with the Center for Drug Evaluation in May 2019. ISO 22000:2018 certification and a Halal certificate were obtained in December 2020. The company sells both domestically and for export.
