Solbar Ningbo Protein Technology Co., Ltd.

Solbar Ningbo Protein Technology, founded in 2003, is the Ningbo plant of Solbar Protein, a soy protein producer whose business originated in 2001 and which listed on the main board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2023 under stock code 603231. The Ningbo works handle soy protein isolates, concentrates, textured soy proteins and soy dietary fibre, with non-GMO soy oil and soy isoflavones as derivative products.

The group runs three plants: Ningbo in Zhejiang, Shandong Wonderful Biotech in Dongying, and Jilin Minde Biotech in Dunhua, which together cover raw material processing, protein extraction, deep processing and outbound logistics. One site sits inside a main soybean-growing region, which the company cites for traceability and deforestation-free sourcing. Overseas entities are held in Singapore as Solbar International and in Germany as Solbar GmbH, and products are sold in more than 60 countries.

Ownership has changed several times. The Ningbo plant was established as part of Solbar Industrial Group, which was acquired by CHS Inc; Shandong Wonderful Industrial Group later acquired the Ningbo plant, Shanghai Fosun Group became second largest shareholder, and Bunge (Shanghai) invested and became a major shareholder before the 2023 listing. Laboratories are ISO 17025 certified and run ISO and AOAC methods, including GMO PCR testing on request. Applications served include meat and meat alternatives, nutritional beverages and foods for special medical purposes, pet food, animal feed, fermentation nitrogen sources and personal care.
