Yantai Honghe Biological Technology refines glycerol. Food additive grade glycerol is its main product, with other grades of glycerol made on the same site.

The company works from Yantai in Shandong on a site of 8,600 square metres, of which 4,000 square metres are production buildings, on a stated total investment of 10 million yuan. Its people have worked on glycerol production for more than 30 years. Annual output runs at 4,000 tonnes of food additive glycerol and a further 2,000 tonnes of other glycerol grades.
