Bengbu Huadong Bio-tech Co., Ltd.

Bengbu Huadong Bio-tech was established in June 2009 and works across the whole stevia chain: seedling breeding, promotion of stevia planting, and production and development of steviol glycosides including glucosyl steviol glycosides. It operates its own nursery and growing bases, which lets it link variety research, propagation, cultivation and processing in one operation rather than buying leaf on the open market. Its nursery at Mingguang is described as the largest stevia seedling base in China.

The plant is in the Mohekou Industrial Park at Huaishang District, Bengbu, Anhui, at No. 20 Feihe North Road. The site covers 100,000 square metres and total investment was 120 million yuan. Annual production is 1,000 tonnes of steviol glycosides across a range of specifications, with annual output value around 200 million yuan.

The company holds eleven granted invention patents and is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSSC 22000, Kosher and Halal. It has been designated a national high-tech enterprise, a provincial specialised and innovative enterprise, a provincial enterprise technology centre, a provincial green factory and a provincial leading enterprise.

Research is carried out with the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Anhui Science and Technology University and Bengbu University, with regular training and technical exchange to build the company's own technical staff. Products sell into Europe, the Americas, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia.
