Cofco Biochemical Marketing Corporation is the sales arm of COFCO Biotechnology, the corn processing business of the COFCO group. The edible corn starch and fructose syrup listed here come from that wet milling chain, which also yields other starch sugars, citric acid, monosodium glutamate, food alcohol, fuel ethanol and polylactic acid.
COFCO Biotechnology dates from 1998 at Bengbu in Anhui, where it started as Anhui Fenyuan Biochemical, and it has traded on the Shenzhen exchange since 1999; COFCO took control of it in 2006. The company runs corn processing plants in several provinces and employed around 5,300 people in 2024.
