Fujian Dingli Yuanfeng Marine Biotechnology makes carrageenan from seaweed, in the refined and semi-refined grades listed here, for gelling and thickening in dairy, meat and jelly products.

The company began production in 2023 at Shishi, near Quanzhou in Fujian, on a site of 15,000 square metres with 8,700 square metres of plant, and reports investment of more than 70 million yuan. Its stated capacity is 1,200 tonnes of refined and 800 tonnes of semi-refined carrageenan a year, and it recruited process staff from the first generation of Chinese carrageenan producers.
