Fujian Green Power Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was founded in 1998 and has worked on carrageenan production and compounding for more than 20 years. Its headquarters and factory are in Zhangpu County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian province, on a site given as about 153,000 square metres.

Annual capacity is more than 5,000 tonnes of refined carrageenan and 1,500 tonnes of semi-refined carrageenan. The company also runs a branch factory and raw material procurement centre in Indonesia and a marketing office in Xiamen, and keeps its own specialists stationed in Indonesia and the Philippines to select and buy seaweed at source.

More than 5 percent of operating income goes into research and process optimisation each year. The company holds 2 invention patents and 13 utility model patents, and its certification covers HACCP, Halal and Kosher together with ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 22000 food safety management systems.
