Glassven Yangzhong Additives J.v.Ltd.

Glassven Yangzhong Additives J.V. Ltd. is a Venezuelan-Chinese joint venture that manufactures precipitated silica and synthetic silicates at Changwang West Road, Youfang Town, Yangzhong, Jiangsu Province. The operation also trades under the name Glassven Yangzhong Silicas and Chemicals J.V. Ltd. at the same site, and dates from 2003.

Production covers precipitated silicas and sodium aluminium silicates. Grades are supplied as fillers, matting agents, extenders and abrasive silicas, with food-grade silicon dioxide sold into food and pharmaceutical use as an anti-caking agent, carrier and free-flow agent. Other grades go to the coatings, paper, oral care and rubber industries. The plant operates a research and development function aimed at matching grades to specific application requirements.

The Chinese venture is the manufacturing arm in Asia of Glassven C.A. of Venezuela, which has produced precipitated silicas and sodium silicate for over 25 years and is the largest producer of both in that country. Products from the group are sold through a network of agents and distributors in more than seventy countries.
