Guilin Sanleng Biotech Co., Ltd. has worked on botanical extraction since 1993 and is based in Guilin, Guangxi, the traditional growing area for monk fruit. It began with plant extracts, intermediates and high-purity active ingredients, building established processes for ginkgo leaf and persimmon leaf extracts, and in 2017 moved its main effort into natural sweeteners under its founder and general manager, Mr Mao, a graduate of China Agricultural University.

The company now supplies monk fruit extract standardised on mogrosides, monk fruit juice concentrate and finished monk fruit consumer products, alongside citrus-derived ingredients, persimmon leaf and andrographis extracts. It operates two GMP manufacturing bases, at Lingchuan and Suqiao, which between them can process over 100,000 tonnes of monk fruit a year. Patented technologies cover integrated mogroside extraction from Siraitia grosvenorii, high-purity flavonoid extraction, ursolic acid from persimmon leaves and membrane separation.

Upstream work has been extended through a demonstration base taken over from local government in 2024. It covers more than 600 mu with investment above 5.5 million US dollars, and includes an off-season cultivation area, an intelligent glass greenhouse for seedlings, a virus-free seedling laboratory, a selenium-enriched planting area and automated irrigation.

A joint venture, NATCO, was formed in the United States in 2019 to handle international business, and products are sold in more than thirty countries. Certifications held include USDA Organic with Canadian equivalency, EU Organic, kosher, halal, HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, FSMA, BRC, FEMA GRAS and non-GMO. Research partners include the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, South China University of Technology, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Guilin University of Technology and the Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
