Hangzhou Mingbao Bio-tech Co., Ltd.

Hangzhou Mingbao Bio-tech Co., Ltd. was founded in 2000 and processes tea into ingredients for the food and beverage industry. Its plant is on Xianxing Road in Xianlin Street, Yuhang District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang. Land for the site was bought in 2005, construction began in 2006 and the factory started production in 2008. The company was originally registered as Hangzhou Mingbao Food Co., Ltd. and took its present name in 2019.

Products include instant teas, matcha and superfine tea powders, tea and plant concentrates, leaf tea, herbal teas, plant extracts, solid drinks, flavoured teas, tea bags and coffee liquids and powders. Processing methods described include vacuum concentration and spray drying for instant black tea, nano ceramic membrane ultrafiltration for a cold-soluble instant black tea that dissolves in five degree water, constant temperature and humidity ball milling for matcha, and cold centrifugation and low temperature membrane concentration for tea concentrates. Raw materials are specified by origin and cultivar, including Kenyan, Burundian, Ceylon and Yunnan black teas, Yabukita and Jiukeng for matcha, and Duck Shit Aroma Phoenix Dancong from Raoping.

The company has supplied more than a thousand food, beverage and health product companies in China and abroad, and offers custom development. It was recognised as a national high-tech enterprise in 2017, obtained provincial high-tech status for plant deep processing in 2018, and was approved as a provincial enterprise research institute in 2020, the same year it won a first prize in the Zhejiang science and technology progress awards. It holds 35 utility model patents obtained in 2017 alongside invention patents, and was granted a health food production licence in 2012. A Zhejiang postdoctoral workstation was established in 2025.

Two subsidiaries extend capacity. Zhejiang Mingye Plant Technology Co., Ltd. was formed in 2019 and built a new factory at Lishui, selected as a Zhejiang pilot future factory for plant extract processing in 2025. Mingbao (Xinhui, Jiangmen) Food Co., Ltd. was set up in Guangdong in 2022.
