Hebei Messi Biology Co., Ltd. was established in 2015 with registered capital of 55 million yuan and is located in the Xingdong New District of Xingtai, Hebei. It produces magnesium oxide, magnesium carbonate, magnesium sulphate, magnesium hydroxide and other magnesium salts.

The company controls its own raw material. It holds the independent development right to the hydromagnesite deposit at Bangor Lake in Nagqu, Tibet, with proven reserves of 55 million tonnes and prospective reserves of 100 million tonnes, and runs a 10,000 tonne hydromagnesite high-end powder processing line in a Tibet and Qinghai industrial park. Both brine and ore routes are operated, which lets it make pharmaceutical and food grades, high purity nano grades and standard industrial grades. Stated annual capacity is 50,000 tonnes of magnesium oxide, 30,000 tonnes of magnesium carbonate, 60,000 tonnes of magnesium hydroxide and 60,000 tonnes of magnesium sulphate, with customised grades available for specific industries.

Applications named include medicine and food, metal refining, electronic materials, rubber and plastics, composites, optical glass, aerospace, the nuclear industry, automotive parts and 5G materials, alongside water and wastewater treatment, flame retardants, fertiliser and refractories.

The company runs separate technical development, production, raw material inspection and quality inspection departments and its own research centre, and has set up a magnesium salt research base with the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It has taken part in revising industry standards several times and is an executive director of the China Magnesium Salt Association. Its pharmaceutical and food grade and high purity nano grade products have FDA certification. It is a national high-tech enterprise, a national science and technology enterprise and a Hebei specialised, refined, differential and innovative enterprise, and holds ISO management system and intellectual property management system certification.
