Huzhou Shengtao Biotech LLC extracts high-carbon aliphatic alcohols and plant waxes at 1111 Chengye Road in the Huzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Zhejiang Province. The business began in 1992 as Huzhou Nanxun Shengtao Plant Science and Technology Co., Ltd. The present company was set up in 2008 and its plant came into use in 2012.

The site covers more than 15,000 square metres and employs around 38 people. More than ten automated production lines have been installed over the past five years, using processes the company has patented. Its products are policosanol and octacosanol, extracted from rice bran wax and sugarcane wax, triacontanol, refined rice bran wax in two grades, rice wax, sugarcane wax, and rice bran wax calcium soap. Octacosanol is offered at purities of 98 percent and above.

The company holds ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 certification along with kosher and halal approvals, and exports to Europe, North America and other Asian markets.
