Inner Mongolia Huaou Starch Industry Co., Ltd. (内蒙古华欧淀粉工业股份有限公司) was established in 1992 and processes potatoes into starch at Huqing Road 98, Horinger County, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. The company reports total assets of 102.4 million yuan and annual capacity to process 130,000 to 150,000 tonnes of fresh potatoes into 20,000 tonnes of potato starch. Its processing line uses fully enclosed, automated hydrocyclone equipment supplied by Larsson of Sweden.

Huaou runs an integrated chain covering seed potato breeding, potato growing and starch processing. It operates a seed potato propagation centre with tissue culture facilities, greenhouses and screen houses, with capacity to produce 5 million minitubers a year, and has established roughly 20,000 mu of potato demonstration and trial fields.

Potato starch is sold under the Huaou brand in 25 kg, 10 kg, 5 kg and 400 g packs for food, pharmaceutical and chemical use. The company sells through a domestic distribution network and exports to markets in Asia, Australia, Africa and the Americas. It is listed on China's National Equities Exchange and Quotations board, and holds recognition as a high and new technology enterprise and as an Inner Mongolia agricultural industrialisation enterprise.
