New Francisco (Yunfu City) Biotechnology Corporation Limited, known as NFBC, has manufactured oligosaccharides since 1994. It is a joint venture between the Kingrich International Investment Group of Taiwan and Asia Pulp and Paper of Indonesia. Research sits with a team in Taiwan and production is at a plant in Yunfu, Guangdong Province, at Swan-kan-chiau Industrial District, Kaofong Village.

Output is sold under the King-Prebiotics trademark and covers galacto-oligosaccharides, fructo-oligosaccharides, isomalto-oligosaccharides, malto-oligosaccharides, maltodextrin and corn syrup solids. GOS is made from imported lactose converted enzymatically with beta-galactosidase, and is offered as powders from GOS-270-P through GOS-1000-P and as syrups, including low water activity grades for dry blending. FOS is offered in the same powder and low-water-activity formats.

NFBC was the first company in China to be awarded a food additive production certificate for GOS. Its GOS holds US FDA GRAS notifications 518, 569 and 623, and was the first in the world to receive both NOP and EU organic approval, later joined by Chinese organic certification in 2017. Other certifications include FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, non-GMO identity preserved status, Halal from SHC and MUI, and OU Kosher. The company's oligosaccharides won a Best Dairy Ingredient award at the World Dairy Innovation Awards.
