Qianjiang Yongan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.

Qianjiang Yongan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was established in 2001 in the National High-tech Industrial Development Zone of Qianjiang City, in the Jianghan Plain of Hubei Province, on a site of more than 500 mu. Its shares were listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on 5 March 2010 under code 002365.

Taurine is the core product, made by the company's own ethylene oxide route, which received a Torch Programme certificate from the Ministry of Science and Technology. A 30,000 tonne taurine food additive project completed in 2017 automated synthesis, crystallisation and purification, packaging and warehousing, and taurine capacity now stands at 58,000 tonnes a year. Around 80 per cent of taurine output is exported, and the company supplies international food and beverage manufacturers. Creatine and creatine monohydrate are supplied alongside taurine.

Upstream, the company runs ethylene oxide capacity of 40,000 tonnes a year using an alcohol-based process supplemented by an ethylene route, which reduces exposure to a single feedstock. Its subsidiary Hubei Ling'an Technology completed a 112,000 tonne a year epoxy-derived fine chemicals project in 2019. A further subsidiary, Yongan Kangjian Pharmaceutical (Wuhan), develops finished nutrition products under the YATEK brand.

Quality systems hold GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, BRC and FAMI-QS certification, along with an OU Kosher certificate and a Halal certificate. The company is a Hubei innovative enterprise and hosts a provincial enterprise technology centre and a Hubei engineering research centre for functional food additives.
