SDIC Zhonglu Fruit Juice Co., Ltd. processes fruit and vegetables into concentrated and not-from-concentrate juices, purees and pulps. The business began in 1991 as Shandong Zhonglu Fruit Juice Food Industry Company, was converted to a limited company in 1999 and restructured as a joint stock company in 2001, when the State Development and Investment Corporation became its controlling shareholder. It listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in June 2004 under the code 600962, issuing 65 million shares, and holds registered capital of 262.21 million yuan. SDIC holds about 44.57 percent of the shares.

Concentrated apple juice accounts for more than 75 percent of output, with apples and pears as the main raw materials. The company runs processing plants in the apple growing regions of Shaanxi, Shandong, Shanxi, Hebei, Liaoning, Yunnan and Jiangsu, keeps a sales company in the United States and added European capacity in 2018 by acquiring the Polish group Appol. More than 80 percent of its output is exported, mainly to the United States, Japan and Europe.

The first phase of its Hebei NFC fruit and vegetable juice project was completed in September 2020. That line handles 5 tonnes an hour and takes pome fruit, stone fruit, root vegetables, berries and leaf vegetables, producing clear juice, cloudy juice and single-strength purees at a rated 9,000 tonnes a year. Products from the line include NFC clear and cloudy apple juice, apple puree, peach puree, cucumber puree, kale juice and strawberry juice.
