Shandong Binzhou Jinsheng New Material Technology makes glycerol and polyglycerol esters at the Binzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Shandong, with branch offices in Jinan and Qingdao. The project represents total investment of CNY 100 million across 40,430 square metres of land and 14,590 square metres of buildings.

Annual capacity is 10,000 tonnes, split evenly between food grade and industrial grade. The polyglycerol line covers diglycerol, triglycerol, hexaglycerol, octaglycerol and decaglycerol, including cosmetic grades. Polyglycerol esters of fatty acids are produced as laurate, myristate, palmitate, stearate, isostearate, oleate, sesquioleate, behenate, cocoate, caprylate, caprate, ricinoleate and polyricinoleate. Mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids are made as glyceryl oleate, stearate, laurate, palmitate, cocoate and ricinoleate, along with monocaprylin.

Feedstocks are plant based. Beyond food emulsifiers the company supplies functional additives for cosmetics and plastics and auxiliaries for household chemicals, lubricants, rubber and plastics, coatings, papermaking and leather. Products released in recent years include polyglyceryl-10 polyricinoleate, an anti-cracking agent for frying based on polyglycerol esters, and a vegetable substitute for lanolin. Development work is carried out with Chinese universities and research institutes.
