Shandong Shengxiangyuan Biotechnology extracts and refines steviol glycosides at No. 58 Haiguan East Road in Qufu, Shandong. Total investment is CNY 280 million, and the company controls more than 50,000 mu, about 3,300 hectares, of stevia planting bases in Shandong, Henan and Inner Mongolia.

Workshops are built to GMP requirements and split by process step, with separate lines for crude extraction, single glycosides as RA, STV, RD, RM and RB, enzymatic conversion and tabletting. Annual output is more than 3,000 tonnes of steviol glycosides, made up of roughly 1,500 tonnes of crude product, 700 tonnes of refined single glycosides and 800 tonnes of glucosylated steviol glycosides. Alongside the bulk ingredient the company makes stevia tablets at various sweetness multiples, retail sweetener and flavoured stevia lozenges, and a pharmaceutical excipient grade of steviol glycosides, and it markets the spent stevia leaf residue.

Certification covers United States FDA and GRAS status, REACH registration, ISO9001, ISO14000, FSSC22000, OHSAS18001, non-GMO, NOP organic, Indonesian MUI, Shandong halal, kosher, BRC and SMETA. Customers include Chinese food, pharmaceutical, beverage and tobacco manufacturers, and the company exports to Asia, Europe and the Americas.
