Shanghai Jianghu Titanium White Product Co., Ltd.

Shanghai Jianghu Titanium White Chemical Products is a Sino-foreign joint venture that finishes titanium dioxide for food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, fibre and industrial use, and also makes food-grade calcium hydroxide. The business traces to 1983, when founder Xie Yiyuan registered Shaoyang Jianghu Industrial in Hunan; it moved to Shanghai in 1990, and the present joint venture was formed in 1999 with the Taiwanese firm Yuegang Industrial. Head office is at 178 Hailun Road in the Hongkou district of Shanghai. The company reports finishing more than 50,000 tonnes a year of specialty titanium dioxide grades.

Food and pharmaceutical grades were developed in 2000, and the company was one of the drafting units for the Chinese national standard on food additive titanium dioxide, with Xie Yiyuan named among its principal authors. Certification history runs from ISO 9002 in 2001 to ISO 9001 in 2003, and the site displays a Halal certificate and an FDA registration.

Manufacturing has since moved to Jiangsu Hushen Titanium Technology, the renamed successor plant registered in October 2016 in the Tongzhou Bay development zone in Jiangsu with capital of RMB 100 million. It occupies close to 80 mu with 51,660 square metres of buildings, and a further RMB 120 million has been spent on expansion. Stated line capacities are 3,000 tonnes a year of pharmaceutical excipient titanium dioxide in a class D cleanroom workshop, 5,000 tonnes of food additive grade, 30,000 tonnes of fibre grades, 8,000 tonnes for acetate fibre and 5,000 tonnes of food-grade calcium hydroxide, plus several 1,500 tonne compound colourant lines.
