Vitasweet Co., Ltd.

Vitasweet Co., Ltd. was founded in 1995 at Liyang, Jiangsu province, and makes acesulfame potassium and aspartame. It was one of the first Chinese producers of Ace-K and states that it is among the few manufacturers worldwide making both sweeteners in-house. Alongside the two single ingredients it sells Twinsweet, the aspartame-acesulfame salt, which the company describes as roughly 350 times as sweet as sucrose, and compounded sweetener blends and finished prebiotic beverages.

Production runs from two bases. Certification covers ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 22000, along with BRC, Kosher and Halal. Product specifications are stated against JECFA, FCC, EP, USP and JP.

The company operates a Jiangsu provincial engineering research centre for food ingredients with 2,000 square metres of floor space, holding a product development room, a test room and a pilot plant. More than 200 pieces of instrumentation are installed, including HPLC, GC and PCR equipment, and the multi-purpose pilot workshop is used to take laboratory work through to industrial scale. The centre also handles process improvement on existing lines, formulation support and application troubleshooting for customers. Sales cover Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa and Australia.
