Yantai Oriental Protein Tech Co., Ltd. (烟台东方蛋白科技有限公司) processes peas into protein, starch and fibre at 668 Jincheng Road in Zhaoyuan, a county-level city under Yantai in Shandong Province. It describes itself as the first pea deep-processing enterprise in China and the first in that sector to pass an on-site audit by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

The plant works North American peas using a dry physical separation process of American design, so the products are non-GMO and free of the major allergens. Annual output is more than 10,000 tonnes. The range covers pea protein, including a grade for meat analogues, hydrolysed pea protein, pea starch and pea fibre, along with mung bean protein and fava bean protein.

The company holds QS, ISO 9001, HACCP and BRC certification. It sells internationally through an affiliate, Healthy Essentials Inc.
