Beijing Refine Biology Co., Ltd.

Beijing Refine Biology was founded in 2007 and makes natural functional ingredients by two routes in parallel: plant extraction and synthetic biology fermentation. Its sweetener range covers stevia, erythritol and allulose, and the fermentation portfolio extends to rare sugars such as D-mannose, which took a silver award for technological innovation at the Natural Ingredients Awards in 2026.

Manufacturing is done at three sites in China: Yangling in Shaanxi, Chuzhou in Anhui and Hohhot in Inner Mongolia. Combined annual fermentation capacity is 60,000 tonnes. The company describes these as smart factories intended to carry engineered strain designs from laboratory scale straight into commercial fermentation, using an internal design-build-test-learn workflow and an AI-supported research platform. Six technology platforms cover research, pilot work, manufacture and application development.

Refine states its operating principles as purer, more efficient and more environmentally sound natural ingredients, and works with customers on formulation rather than only supplying material. Its commercial presence is international: recent appearances include CPHI China, Vitafoods Europe in Spain and the domestic FIC show, where it presented new plant-based extracts across three product platforms.

The head office is at No. 66 Xixiaokou Road in Haidian District, Beijing, with production addresses at No. 13 Chuangxin Road in Yangling and No. 2 Leiqiao Road in the Langya District economic zone at Chuzhou.
