Hangzhou Ruilin Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.

Hangzhou Ruilin Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. is a privately held food additive maker in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, with about 26 years of trading history. It concentrates on two product families, sucrose fatty acid esters and starch esters, the latter sold as octenyl succinic anhydride modified starch. The company reports a domestic market share above 40 percent for sucrose esters and exports to Southeast Asia.

In 2014 it invested close to 10 million yuan in a sucrose ester workshop built to GMP requirements, with a rated capacity of 5,000 tonnes a year. It holds two invention patents and reinvests in research and process upgrades each year. The company states that its production process discharges no waste streams.

Named customers include Hangzhou Wahaha Group, Bright Food, Beijing Sanyuan, Xiamen Yinlu and Chin Chin of Taiwan. The company was certified under the Zhejiang Manufacturing quality scheme and published a social responsibility report for 2021.
