Hunan NutraMax Inc., registered in Chinese as Hunan Lvman Biotechnology Co., Ltd., was established in March 2008 as Changsha Lvman Biotechnology and works from Zhuyun Road in the Changsha High-tech Zone, Hunan. It was designated a high-technology enterprise in December 2009 and listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations in November 2014 under code 831319.

The company grows and extracts its own plant material. It became a drafting body for Chinese plant extract industry standards in 2012 and chairs the Hunan provincial plant extract association, a post its chairman Zhang Baotang has held since 2014. Natural sweeteners are the core line, principally monk fruit extract, sweet tea extract and stevia extract, alongside plant extracts such as resveratrol and dihydromyricetin, blended sweeteners and finished consumer products. Applications shown cover beverages, baking, confectionery, dairy, nuts and condiments.

A cultivation subsidiary, Wugang Sanwei Medicinal Plant Cultivation Co., Ltd., was set up in Wugang City, Hunan, in 2016, and a wholly owned sales subsidiary, Hunan NutraMax USA Inc., was established in California in 2017. The company moved to its present Changsha site in 2019 and started a compound sugar plant there in 2021. Three workshops in the second phase of its Sweet Vine project came on stream in March 2024 with capacity to process more than 30,000 tonnes of fresh fruit a year, an eighth-generation monk fruit extraction line followed in September 2024, and the second phase of the Longsheng monk fruit whole-chain project entered production in September 2025.

Certification includes USDA Organic, EU Organic, NSF cGMP, FSSC 22000, BRC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, halal, kosher, non-GMO and FDA GRAS. Changsha Customs granted advanced AEO status in 2023, and the company was named a specialised and innovative enterprise by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2025.
