Jiangsu Guoxin Union Energy Co., Ltd.

Jiangsu Guoxin Union Energy Co., Ltd. combines power generation, district heating and food additive manufacturing at Yixing in Jiangsu. The Guoxin Union operation comprises two separate legal entities, Jiangsu Guoxin Union Energy Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Guoxin Union Gas Thermal Power Co., Ltd., and has been running for close to thirty years.

Its biotechnology division makes citric acid, citrate salts and corn starch residue, with combined annual output of 200,000 tonnes of citric acid and its salts. The catalogue covers anhydrous citric acid, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, alpha-ketoglutaric acid, corn gluten feed, corn starch residue, citric acid stillage, calcium sulphate and anaerobic granular sludge. The division is a vice-chairman unit of the China Biotech Fermentation Industry Association and of the citric acid branch of the China Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals and Chemicals Importers and Exporters. Certification covers ISO 9001, ISO 14001, HACCP, FSSC 22000, SA8000, identity preserved status, and kosher and halal certificates. Product goes mainly to the United States, Europe, Japan, Australia and Southeast Asia, alongside a domestic share.

The company supplies its own energy. Coal-fired capacity is 282 MW and the company is the main district heating source for Yixing, with more than 280 kilometres of heat network, over 280 heat users and annual heat supply above four million tonnes; its two 135 MW units have repeatedly been rated benchmark units in the Jiangsu thermal power efficiency programme. The gas thermal power company was formed in July 2012 with registered capital of RMB 400 million, jointly funded by Jiangsu Guoxin Co., Ltd. and Guolian Trust, and runs two 9F class gas and steam combined cycle cogeneration units rated at 420 MW each in condensing mode, with 400 tonnes per hour of heat supply and 73.02 percent thermal efficiency.
