Ningxia Yimei Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

Ningxia Yimei Biotechnology Co., Ltd., which trades as Yimei Dairy, was registered in March 2007 and sits in the Lingwu cashmere industrial park, a national-level high-technology development zone within Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The site covers just over 60 mu and represents total investment of 350 million yuan. Staff number 156, including two doctorate holders, two master's holders and 36 technical staff with tertiary qualifications.

The plant processes 350 tonnes of raw milk a day, more than 100,000 tonnes a year, and splits it into three families of products. The fat line yields butter, cream and anhydrous milk fat. The protein line yields casein and sodium caseinate. The whey line yields whey powder together with food-grade and pharmaceutical-grade lactose. Whole and skimmed milk powders are also produced.

The company is described as the only dairy deep-processing operation in Ningxia and as a designated halal food producer for the region. Its output is used in bakery, catering, coffee and tea beverage manufacturing.
