Qingdao Changshou Foods Co., Ltd. processes peanuts into protein ingredients and cold-pressed oil. Its plant is in the Changyang Industrial Park at Laixi, Qingdao, Shandong Province, and was completed and commissioned in October 2003. The first phase involved 160 million yuan of investment and was sized to process 20,000 tonnes of peanuts a year. The plant site covers 260 mu, supported by a growing area of 100,000 mu.

Main products are peanut protein powder, peanut textured vegetable protein, peanut protein foods and cold-pressed peanut oil. The company's low-temperature method for producing virgin peanut oil and textured protein was developed in 2002 and granted a Chinese invention patent, and a related extraction patent followed in 2006. Production has since reached a scale of 10,000 tonnes of peanut protein powder and 8,000 tonnes of peanut oil.

Raw material supply is organised with the Shandong Peanut Research Institute, using its national peanut breeding and trial bases in a company, planting trial, farmer base and research institute model. The company holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and HACCP certification and operates GMP and SSOP systems, and was among the first in its sector to obtain Chinese organic food certification. It was recognised as a high-tech enterprise by the Qingdao Science and Technology Bureau in 2004. Products are sold mainly to Europe, the Americas, Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia.
