Shaanxi Ankang Konjac Bio-Technology Co., Ltd.

Shaanxi Ankang Konjac Bio-Technology works the konjac crop from seed to powder. It breeds konjac varieties, grows and buys corms, and processes them into konjac flour, purified konjac flour and konjac gum, the glucomannan grades used for gelling, water binding and dietary fibre. Dosage runs from around a tenth of a percent in sausage, jelly and noodles up to whole-ingredient use in meal replacement powders and capsules.

The company was set up in Ankang, Shaanxi in 2021 with registered capital of 100 million yuan and is wholly owned by Shaanxi Agricultural Development Group, a provincial state farming holding. It draws material from bases in Shaanxi and Yunnan and gives annual konjac flour supply as more than 5,000 tonnes; its Yunnan plant at Xuanwei, near Qujing, refines over 2,000 tonnes a year. It bred the konjac variety Shaannongyu No.1, approved in Ankang in 2022.
