Shandong Aojing Biotechnology built its stevia plant in 2017 with total investment of CNY 200 million. The site covers 27,000 square metres at No. 1777 Hongtai Road in the Zoucheng Economic Development Zone, part of Jining in Shandong, and the company is registered as a national high-technology enterprise.

Three production lines are built to GMP requirements and are supported by extraction and analytical equipment. Annual output is about 500 tonnes of stevia products. Grades run from common steviol glycosides at 80 to 95 per cent purity through the Reb-A range, quoted from RA50 to RA99 against total glycosides of 95 per cent, to Reb M and Reb D at 95 per cent. Enzymatically glucosylated steviol glycosides and organic stevia in powder and granular form complete the range.

Aojing states that exports account for about 80 per cent of sales and that its goods reach more than 100 countries, with North and South America, the European Union, Southeast Asia, Russia, Japan, Korea and India as the main markets. Certification covers ISO9001, FSSC22000, kosher, halal and organic. End uses given are food and beverages, bakery, dietary and health products, pharmaceuticals and animal feed.
