Shandong Jiruite Gelatin Co., Ltd.

Shandong Jiruite Gelatin was founded in 2012 and is one of more than 60 subsidiaries of the Shandong Wanshengyuan biological group. It makes gelatin for food additive use and for capsules, together with bone-derived dicalcium phosphate, at No. 002688 Zhujiang West 4th Street in the Binhai Economic Development Zone of Weifang, Shandong.

The site covers 60,000 square metres with more than 42,000 square metres of buildings, laid out as an office block and workshops for pretreatment, gelatin extraction, dicalcium phosphate, effluent treatment and utilities. Annual capacity is more than 6,000 tonnes.

Bone is the raw material. The process runs through washing and soaking, degreasing, neutralisation, extraction, filtration, ion exchange, concentration and drying, across several dozen stages, to yield pharmaceutical and edible gelatin. Acid liming, washing and extraction equipment was imported, alongside analytical instruments. The company works to GMP, ISO9001, ISO22000, HACCP, BRC and EAC requirements and has passed FDA food certification.
