Shandong Kunda Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

Shandong Kunda Biotechnology was established in 2009 in the Yishui County economic development zone at Linyi, Shandong. The plant covers 300,000 square metres and combines fine chemicals with food and feed additives.

Installed annual capacity is 60,000 tonnes of ethylamines, 30,000 tonnes of potassium sorbate, 30,000 tonnes of pyridine compounds and 20,000 tonnes of crotonaldehyde. The product list runs across sorbic acid and potassium sorbate, pyridine, 3-methylpyridine, 3-cyanopyridine, nicotinamide, piperidine, monoethylamine and diethylamine, and food-grade glacial acetic acid. Crotonaldehyde is the intermediate linking the ethylamine chain to sorbic acid production.

The company has built a combined heat and power unit running on biogas waste heat, alongside effluent and waste gas treatment. It is registered as a national high-technology enterprise and holds a Shandong provincial enterprise technology centre. Kunda states that it broke the technological hold European and American producers had over nicotinamide, nicotinic acid and piperidine, and that it now carries pricing weight in several of those products internationally. Exports reach more than 100 countries and regions across Europe, the Americas and Southeast Asia. Sales of the full range are handled by Bouling Group.
