Shandong Yuwang Ecological Food Industry Co., Ltd.

Shandong Yuwang Ecological Food Industry has processed soy protein in Yucheng, Shandong, since 1979. The business started after the chairman, Liu Xiqian, read a People's Daily report on soy protein meat and judged the product suited to the food supply of the time. In 1987 he raised CNY 2.6 million to build the Yuwang plant oil factory, with a daily crush of 50 tonnes, which extended the operation upstream into oil extraction and completed the outline of a soybean chain. A protein company was established in Bin County, Heilongjiang, in 2003 to sit closer to the raw material, and protein lines have been added steadily since 2004.

The company now processes 600,000 tonnes of non-GMO soybeans a year, from which it makes 130,000 tonnes of soy protein isolate and 20,000 tonnes of textured vegetable protein. Its range also covers low- and high-temperature edible soybean meal, soy protein concentrate, enzymatically treated soy protein, soy protein powder and soy dietary fibre. Applications served are meat products, plant-based foods, beverages and sports nutrition, nutrition bars, dairy and infant formula.

Yuwang describes the operation as integrated from soybean breeding and cultivation through to processing, and exports to more than 60 countries and regions.
