Shantou Jiecheng Biotech makes hydrocolloids, principally konjac flour and konjac gum and carrageenan. It also blends compound thickener systems for particular uses, with separate grades for jelly, gummy sweets, drinks and meat products, so a buyer can take either the single gum or a finished system.

The company was founded in 1997 and works from Shantou in Guangdong. It holds national high-technology enterprise status and the Chinese "specialised and innovative" small-enterprise designation, and it sits on the standing council of the konjac association within the Chinese Society for Horticultural Science. Its carrageenan is extracted to meet European Union purity specifications, and the company took part in drafting the Chinese national standard for carrageenan. It sells at home and for export.
